Plastic machinery is widely used in packaging, agriculture, construction, automobile and other fields. Because plastic is light, recyclable, low temperature forming and multifunctional, its use is more and more extensive, and the amount is more and more large. The development trend of replacing steel with plastic and wood with plastic is growing. The development potential of China's plastic machine industry is great, and the potential is very strong. In particular, some models with high scientific and technological content, good performance, and relatively moderate price, such as super large, precision, special injection molding machines, low temperature, high-power single screw extruders, multi-layer co extrusion blow molding machines used to produce high impermeability and heat resistance packaging materials, and blow molding machines used to produce industrial parts (auto parts, etc.), all have good prospects for development.

The plastic machinery industry in Europe attaches great importance to innovation and has a strong development potential. Every year, half of the global plastic machinery industry exports from Europe. Among them, French machinery manufacturers have begun to seize the opportunity to expand the market. It is understood that at present, the annual sales of French plastic machinery is about 1.9 billion dollars, ranking fourth in the world after Japan, the United States and Germany. Germany, as the number one power in the plastic machinery industry, has a leading manufacturing technology in the world, and has maintained a strong momentum of development in recent years. The plastic machinery market in Russia has a promising prospect, which has attracted great attention and fierce competition from plastic machinery manufacturers all over the world. Not only do European machinery companies increase their marketing efforts, but also many Asian machinery companies are eager to try to occupy a place in Russia.

Nowadays, great changes have taken place in the demand and consumption of plastics, but plastic machinery is still the focus of major manufacturers and consumers. However, the plastic machinery industry in China currently has such problems as low independent innovation ability, less high-end and personalized special varieties, and low industry concentration, which means that China's plastic machinery industry cannot catch up with the level of foreign plastic machinery as soon as possible. According to the statistics of the Chinese Customs, in February this year, China exported 264 blow molding machines (customs commodity number:), worth 8.01 million dollars; 32 sets were imported, amounting to US $25.35 million. In January and February, China exported 2140 blow molding machines and imported 54, with the amount of US $23.53 million and US $47.31 million respectively, and the accumulated deficit was about US $23.8 million. Among them, other blow molding machines (customs commodity number:) accounted for a large proportion. In January and February 2012, China imported 32 other blow molding machines, amounting to USD 360.4 billion. During the same period, 1440 other blow molding machines were exported, amounting to 14.16 million US dollars, accounting for 76.2% and 60.2% of China's total import and export of blow molding machines respectively. Secondly, in 2011, China exported extrusion blow molding machines (customs commodity number:) and injection blow molding machines (customs commodity number:) to US $6.62 million and US $2.74 million, respectively, and imported US $6.4 million and US $4.87 million in the same period.

Although China's plastic machinery market lags behind Europe, North America and Japan, more than ten enterprises have begun to develop and produce all electric injection molding machines. With the continuous rise of domestic plastic machinery enterprises, more efficient and energy-saving plastic machinery has also emerged. In addition to strong foreign competitors, the strength of these domestic plastic machinery enterprises has also begun to be reckoned with.
